Sophia Gulak, LMSW

Hi! I'm Sophia, and I'm so glad you're here.

I have always been passionate about working with children and families and helping them navigate life's challenges. My previous experience includes working with foster youth and foster
families, and I am excited to continue supporting these populations while working with children, adolescents, and families from a variety of backgrounds at Bloom.

As a foster parent myself, I remain actively involved in the foster care community and understand both the joys and challenges that families may experience. I look forward to being a
supportive resource for children and families by providing a compassionate, understanding, and therapeutic environment where they feel heard, valued, and supported.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Springfield College and my Master of Social Work from Montclair State University. I have experience working with children and adolescents experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral challenges, and the effects of abuse and neglect. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and tailored to each
client's unique strengths and needs. I utilize evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and play
therapy techniques to help children process emotions, build resilience, and develop the skills they need to thrive.

I believe that every child and family deserves a safe, welcoming space where they can build trust, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward meaningful growth. My goal is to create an
environment where clients feel accepted and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
