Life can feel overwhelming and out of control sometimes, leading us to participate in unhealthy behaviors in order to avoid feeling the stress and anxiety of our past and present experiences. You may begin to isolate, overspend, overeat, overwork, or use sex, alcohol and other drugs to numb negative emotions. These coping strategies provide temporary relief and can feel like an escape from the pain, loneliness and disappointments of life. Sadly, these avoidance strategies can cause us to feel lost, disconnected and ashamed. It may be time to try something new. I am committed to improving the lives of others by helping them to examine the core beliefs and behavioral patterns that may no longer be serving them, and helping individuals and couples to identify and express their needs and emotions in "real time." I am a dedicated therapist with a history of empowering individuals and couples to heal from trauma, substance use disorders, and helping clients to overcome the barriers that prevent them from being the best versions of themselves. I strive to create a safe, judgment-free zone to assist individuals and couples to gain the necessary skills to become their own advocates for change, so that they can identify and realize their goals. I am a strong ally and advocate for the LGBTQ+ Community, and enjoy working with people from different cultural backgrounds.
