Annie Lyons, LPC
I believe that healing happens when we are in community with others, not in isolation, and that therapy offers a supportive and empowering space for individuals, children, and families as they work towards growth and healing. Wherever you find yourself in life, it is an honor to be able to walk alongside you on your counseling journey.
I strive to create a welcoming and creative space where children, adolescents, and adults can feel safe to explore and express their emotions and to learn more about themselves. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, honoring each individual’s unique story and meeting you where you are. I utilize evidence-based and developmentally-appropriate interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused CBT, play therapy, and expressive arts based techniques to increase self awareness, cultivate strengths, and build resilience for meaningful, lasting change.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College. I have experience working with clients navigating a variety of concerns, including anxiety, stress, life transitions, behavioral concerns, depression, and ADHD. When working with children, I value the important role of families and work to collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to empower in supporting your child’s growth outside of sessions.
It is my hope that counseling is a space where you feel like your story is heard and valued, and where you feel supported on your journey towards flourishing.
