What is an attachment assessment?

An attachment or bonding assessment is a specialized type of evaluation with the goal of determining the nature and quality of the child's attachment to their caregiver(s), often to assist the court in permanency planning. 

Who is a candidate for an attachment assessment?

  • Children ages 9 months and older

  • Foster families or guardians who are seeking to adopt and anticipate a termination of parental rights (TPR)

  • When an attachment assessment is requested/required by the court, a Guardian ad Litem (GAL), or the Department of Social Services (DSS) in order to assist in permanency planning.

Where are assessments available?

All attachment and bonding assessment are performed in-home. We are currently able to provide this service in Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and Laurens Counties.
